WOLVERINE Pulls Out Of Sweden's ROCK THE MOUNTAIN Festival

Swedish metallers WOLVERINE have cancelled their previously announced July 22 appearance at the Rock The Mountain festival in Söderhamn, Sweden. According to the band: "The reason for the cancellation is that Stefan's [Zell; vocals] daughter was born with a heart condition. She didn't need immediate surgery at birth but now she's taken a turn for the worse so Stefan and his family will travel to Gothenburg which is one of two cities in Sweden that are able to perform the surgery needed. They will be in Gothenburg over the next weekend and that's when the gig was supposed to take place. We hope and believe you all will understand that we really don't have any other choice than to cancel. Hopefully we will be able to schedule another show in Sweden in the near future. If not, there's always ProgPower to look forward to."

WOLVERINE will perform two sets at the ProgPower Europe 2008 festival, which will be held October 3-5 at JC Sjiwa in Baarlo, The Netherlands. On Sunday, October 5, the band will play a regular set of one hour; while on Friday, October 3, WOLVERINE will take part in a special performance covering only material that they performed at the 1999 inaugural version of the festival.

WOLVERINE's latest album, "Still", was released in the U.S. in July 2006 via Candlelight Records. The CD was recorded in part at Spacelab studio in Tönisvorst, Germany. The follow-up to 2003's "Cold Light of Monday" was produced by Oliver Philipps, Christian "Moschus" Moos and WOLVERINE and was mixed at the end of August 2005.
